2014-06-20, jan15Ri As we all know, brands are more about who rides for them then the qitauly of their product itself. That's why companies have sponsored skaters in the first place. Do you guys really think that Blood Wizard or Heroin Skateboards would have Tony Hawk ride for them? Not every company wants to be associated with the Tony Hawk name. The other side of the story is how much does the company have to give up to have so and so skater on their team? For Tony Hawk, he's getting paid large for every one of his sponsors for sure. As a company, do you sponsor Tony Hawk or five other big name pros for the same price?Image is everything in this world Nic. If you have the right image, you make money; if not then enjoy what you can get. I wish talent (and qitauly) was more important in this world but it just isn't.
